Cell phone, Email, Regular mail. (Regular mail, typed or handwritten)
Use all four ways!
Use your cell phone to make quick, frequent calls. Give your name and contact information, and a quick short message; "vote yes on this", or "vote no on that." "Please support bill number..." or here is a good idea that could be worth considering."
Use email for frequent more in depth communication. Try to include some personal story or comment relative to the subject of the email, like "My mother used to say"...or something that happened to me was... Always be polite. Include your contact information. Always ask for a reply.
Occasionally , send in a regular type written or even hand written letter in proper form. It is an attention getter. Use for more important subject matter. Try to personalize, and always ask for a reply."
Sometimes just send in a short, informal, handwritten, hand addressed note, addressing a single important issue.
For example, "I want you to do everything possible to stop our government from locking up children in cages. It is extremely harmful during their formative years. We are causing mental illness in children. It is inhumane and abominable. I am ashamed of my country and you should be too." Be polite. Include your name, return address, and ask for a reply. If you do not receive a reply, write and ask for it again. If you still don't get a reply start calling and emailing asking for a response. Keep notes on what happens.
The NRLLA is asking all people to start communicating with their Congress People and other Federal, State, and Local office holders on a regular and frequent basis.
The more we communicate with our government officials the more we will be engaging in Government by the People.
Just do it! The sooner you start and the more often you do it, the easier it will be. Get your friends and family to do it. Make it FUN! Post it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, other social media.
See: "Proper Form of Address" in next section below.
In your cell contacts put "Politian" on the line for last name for each of your 2 Senators and your one Representative. Then put their last name and first name on the first name line. Put in local office numbers and D.C. office numbers. Now all three congress people will be under "Politian"; you can call all three in rapid succession. Put "Politician-State" for any state office holders, and "Politician-local for any county or city office holders. Also include fax #'s, email addresses, regular mail addresses, for all offices. Now, all contact information will be readily available on your cell phone, under "Politician" making it easy to get in touch quickly and...FREQUENTLY!

While proper form is not necessary, it does give more credibility to your communication. However, any communication from an individual to a member of Congress, or other government official is very desirable.
Anytime people in government receive a lot of communication from individuals, they take notice and behave accordingly. It works!
