There are many things happening everyday. Some are highly publized. Some happen without much notice.
Donald Trump has begun investigating naturalized citizens, even ones who are now veterans of our military services, looking for evidence to revoke their citizenship, and deport them. True! It has already happened. What kind of person would do something like this, especially considering that the mother of his first three children Donald Jr, Eric, and Ivanka came to America as an illegal immigrant under false pretenses? True! It certainly DOES NOT seem like fair, just, and equal treatment for people who love America, and have already given back. Studies show that immigrants are LESS LIKELY to commit crimes than the general population.
PEOPLE WITH MONEY AND POWER?
MANY RICH PEOPLE use their money and power to get laws passed that are beneficial to themselves. For decades over 80% of new income has gone to the rich, while the income of regular working people has hardly grown at all. In fact, the income of regular people has grown very little since 1970. And, in many cases allowing for inflation it has actually diminished.
WHO IS PAYING TAXES?
Far and away regular hardworking people are paying a larger percentage of their income in taxes, while most RICH PEOPLE actually pay at a much lower percentage rate. Often, through creative accounting, tax incentives, and other measures some RICH PEOPLE and some corporations get out of paying any taxes at all. Sometimes they even get "tax credits" to defer paying taxes in the future. Many RICH PEOPLE feel that paying taxes is an evil burden which they should avoid, when in actuality everyone paying a fair share of taxes supports our country, our government, and our people and should be considered a BADGE OF HONOR! A quotation attributed to Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. in 1927 says "Taxes are the Price We Pay for a Civilized Society".
WHAT CAN REGULAR PEOPLE DO RIGHT NOW?
To encourage voting democratic to increase the equality of life for all people; organize into small groups of 8-10 or 12, no more. Participate in regular periodic, friendly , meetings. Rotate location and host, for one hour or less, a few simple snacks, no alcohol! Keep it business; keep it short. Discuss ways to improve education of people about the importance of participating in government: by voting democratic, by running for office, by communicating, What We Want, to our congressional representatives. Use regular mail for more involved and personalized messages, email for quick information, phone calls for speed and brevity. Plan group participation at town halls, where you should have questions to ask, written out information to hand deliver along with business cards. Introduce yourself and try to get to know your congress person. (Check out NRDC's How to call congress at https://www.nrdc.org/stories/how-call-congress ). Promote registering and voting to every one you can. Have a group meeting conference call or meeting on line. Discuss the absolute necessity of electing a large majority of Democrats in both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, as well as state and local offices. See, ("Why democrats?") in a later section. Spread the word about NRLLA, in person, by phone, texts, email, social media, letters.
ABSOLUTE NECESSITY TO BE INVOLVED!
We need HUGH NUMBERS of People to turn out to Vote for Democrats so that any foreign (or domestic) efforts to Interfere in Our Elections will be OVERWHELMED by our Sheer Numbers. We can do it! PLEASE HELP! Do Everything You can to get People registered, to get People to the polls, to get People to Vote! And Vote for Democrats! See ("Why Democrats?") in a later section of this Website!
