We've got something to say to you! Not only is there a tremendous wealth gap in the United States, it continues to grow wider and wider year after year. See Wikipedia's: (Wealth Inequality in the United States.) Not now! Later. Keep reading. It states that the net worth of U.S. households and non-profit organizations is 94.7 Trillion dollars. If that amount was divided among the 124 million U.S. households it would equal $760,000 each. However, in actually, the bottom 50% (62 million households) average only $11,000 in net worth. Which means that half of that number averages even less.
The wealthiest 1% own 40% of the nation's wealth, while the bottom 80% only own 7%. The richest 1% receives more additional income than the bottom 90%. The average employee needs to work a month to earn as much as the top CEO's earn in one hour. Rich people receive more than 80% of all new income.
It is not necessary to be rich to have a good life. Mostly, what is needed is enough money or income to be able to afford the basic necessities of a decent life. People need food, a place to live, a means of transportation, freedom from worry about physical and financial safety and security, good mental and physical health and healthcare, good quality education, a good job, free time for personal and family activities, opportunities for self improvement and to get ahead in life, freedom to change jobs or careers, and to travel or relocate.
Some of the happiest people in the world live in Denmark where they have good pay, higher taxes, free health care, good education, lots of free time and vacation time, maternity leave for both men and women, and no Rat Race. They have Civilized, Intelligent Discourse, and Treat each other with Caring Compassion, Tolerance, Dignity and Respect.
We are not advocating for moving to Denmark, but rather for all our people uniting to make America a better, more equitable country that has Civilized, Intelligent Discourse and Treats all our People with Caring Compassion, Tolerance, Dignity and Respect.
